Disney has a long history with art festival events. What started 30+ years ago as an invitational only showcase of world class artisans and took place over a single weekend in Downtown Disney has now morphed into over a month-long event at Epcot park. During the last few years of “Festival of Masters”, Disney Artists were also included to show their work and meet the fans.
During the renovation of Downtown Disney into what we now know as Disney Springs the festival was cancelled. However, it was worth the wait for a few years to have an expanded festival with a full array of visual arts, culinary delights, performing arts and more!
Now in it’s third year Epcot International Festival of the Arts will take place January 18th– February 25th, 2019. During the festival you can admire curated collections from up and coming and established artists or get a behind the scenes look at how their work is created at one of the artist seminars. Better yet, channel your inner Picasso during one of the many artist workshops!
There is something for everyone during the festival (even if recreating the Mona Lisa isn’t your schtick). A world of culinary delights as beautiful as they are delicious awaits you. Enjoy performing arts from acrobats to living statues. Or dance the night away during the Disney on Broadway performances.
And you won’t want to miss:
- Special photo opportunities
- Animation Academy
- Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt
- & Hands-On Wall Mural
Have you attended during the previous years or did you have the opportunity to enjoy the festival when it was in Downtown Disney? I’d love to hear you thoughts and experiences! ºoº
